The flat hosts an excellent card at Newbury and in a strong renewal of the Greenham Stakes at 3.10 Top Offer looks set to make a bold bid for success. This three-year old son of Dansili has only ran once in his career but was more than impressive when cruising home in a Class 4 maiden at the same track. Top Offer suffered a setback last term hence only the one outing but trainer Roger Charlton has announced him in good shape and Top Offer could be a Group 1 performer in the offing. In the following event, the Spring Cup at 3.45, Captain Bertie is worth following along with Fury from the Willie Haggas yard. Captain Bertie was massively unlucky on his seasonal debut in the Spring Mile at Doncaster. Having been gelded over the winter, the four-year old’s path was blocked in the race , before he finished like a train for a close fourth. A reproduction of that effort would see him go very close tomorrow at 6-1. It’s worth splitting stakes with Fury (8-1) who was also the recipient of a gelding operation during the winter. Fury finished with a rattle in the Lincoln at the end of March and should progress for that run.]]>
