“Attain is back on a winnable mark, was very unlucky not to go close last time and granted better luck today he should be hard to beat in what looks a weak race. The selection showed improved form in 2015 since being fitted with a tongue tie, with form figures on the all-weather of 1-3-1-9-7-3. Those 9th and 7th place finishes can be excused as he was denied a clear run twice over a shorter trip when finishing 9th, and was wrongly ridden to try and make all from stall 14 of 14 when finishing 7th. His last run (over today’s course and distance) where he finished 3rd showed he is ready to strike again and can be upgraded as he was very unlucky. Travelling well in midfield, he was denied a clear run on the final bend with the jockey having to wait until the straight to make a move. Once in the clear, as he attempted to make progress he was badly hampered costing him any valuable momentum. Attain then did well to run on for 3rd place but had no chance as the winner went clear during the unlucky incident. It was encouraging how Attain travelled wearing the combination of cheek pieces and the tongue tie for the first time, and he reappears today off the same handicap mark of 60. Prior to that latest run, the last time he ran off this mark of 60 on the all-weather he was successful, and in a race that has question marks over the majority of his rivals, Attain has a lot in his favour. With a couple of front runners in the field, he should be able to track the pace from stall 3 and granted a clearer passage this time, Attain should take some beating.”
