“A few weeks ago, when Juventus’ streak of wins had just started, manager Allegri said that the plan for his team was to catch up as much as possible and see where they were come Xmas. This is the last game before the break, which in Italy is relatively long (the next game won’t be before the 6th of January). The plan has been accomplished in specatular fashion, with one handicap win after the other. Mid-week they demolished Torino in a heated cup-tie, where after enjoying a lucky break (striker Zazà should have been sent off on more than one occasion after having already been booked) they proceeded to win this very special derby 4-0. For their last game before the festivites they meet Carpi away, a team that at home have managed to force Napoli and Milan to a 0-0 draw. I think this will be their plan for this game too, to try and get an unexpected point out of this clash, but Juventus at the moment are just too strong. Some key players like Dybala were rested for most of the game against Torino, while others, like Marchisio and Pogba will only need to play one more game of their recent tour de force before a well-deserved break. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Juventus will win this game, I think a handicap win is an extremely likely event as they will want to secure their result, first of all and they will have more space once Carpi inevitably opens up after the first goal. And let’s not forget how Juventus managed to get a handicap away win against Empoli even after conceding the first goal, that’s how strong they are mentally. With the prospect of losing only half our stake if the visitors only win narrowly and this kind of odds I think this is an opportunity we should not pass up.”
