The Story So Far Pundits, professional football tipsters and fans alike will be scratching their heads at some of the positioning in the very much infant Premier League table, with Leicester sitting in 2nd place (although the top football tipsters would have noted their exceptional form at the back-end of last season – 7 wins from their last 10 games – rather than coach Claudio Ranieri’s surprise appointment) and Chelsea languishing in 16th. Early in the season as it may be, this weekend still throws up some fascinating and potentially crucial matches, with a few coaches already starting to look over their shoulders at their trigger-happy chairman.

Leicester City V Tottenham Hotspur – Saturday 3 pm

Leicester have certainly been the surprise package thus far, with 6 points and 6 goals form their opening pair of matches, and a host of positivity surrounding their expansive and confident play. Claudio Ranieri certainly has his doubters but a continuation of the Foxes early season form is certainly a good possibility with a match against a team who are currently inhabiting the opposite end of the positivity spectrum. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will be bitterly disappointed with a return of just a single point to date, especially considering the naïve nature of Spurs’capitulationin allowing a 2-0 lead slip to Stoke in last weekend’s draw 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane. Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously twitchy, and with a lack of impact in the transfer market coupled with a difficult trip to The King Power stadium, it could be tricky weekend for the Lillywhitesof North London. West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea – Sunday 1.30 pm

It’s certainly been a disappointing start to the campaign for last seasons’ champions Chelsea, even though coach Jose Mourinho was determined to cast aside last week’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City as a ‘fake result.’ The Blues will be desperate to nail down their first win of the season, and may be able to include new signing Pedro in their match-day squad for their visit to The Hawthorns. Tony Pulis’ West Brom are also looking for their first win, as well as their first goal, and won’t be relishing the visit of a wounded Chelsea side.  Football tipsters will be licking their lips at the prospect of this one, especially with the home side at such long odds. West Brom 6.50 Draw 3.60 Chelsea 1.57

Arsenal V Liverpool – Monday 8 pm

The biggest game of Week 3 comes at the Emirates’ on Monday with in-form Liverpool looking to make it three wins from three against an Arsenal side who claimed their first victory of the season at Selhurst Park last Sunday. On closer inspection, both Liverpool results have been a tad fortunate so far, particularly Monday night’s home win over newly-promoted Bournemouth where a couple of big refereeing decisions went their way. Christian Benteke will be looking to add to his tally against an Arsenal defence that has looked far from comfortable so far. The Gunners’ surprising opening day loss to West Ham (only the finest football tipsters would have seen that coming) was avenged somewhat in their close win over Palace last week, but Arsene Wenger will be looking for a much more well-rounded display from a side tipped by many to be challenging the elite for the title this season.
