West Ham United – Chelsea 4th March Match Preview
West ham are going through the most up-and-down part of their season so far after a first half where they looked like European contenders. After a resounding 3-1 home defeat to lowly Crystal Palace on Saturday, they are now without a win in 5 games and have fallen to 9th in the table. The Hammers are still without Carlton Cole, Andy Carroll and Morgan Amalfitano, so manager Sam Allardyce could look to change things up offering Nene his chance of making his full debut. Chelsea arrive in Upton Park immediately after the joy and celebrations of a triumphant trip to Wembley on Sunday. The Blues will be hoping to maintain their 5 point lead at the top of the Premier League and retain the chance to extend that to 8 when they get their chance to recover their game in hand. It won’t be easy here, but they should manage another hard fought win. Chelsea remain only without defensive midfielders Nemanja Matic and Jon Obi Mikel and after Kurt Zouma put in an impressive performance in front of the defence at Wembley on Sunday, he could continue in that position with the likes of Oscar, Filipe Luis and Juan Cuadrado who should all come in to the starting XI.
