Real Madrid vs Liverpool
After a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture two weeks ago, Real Madrid now play hosts to Liverpool and have their sights set firmly on three points and progression in to the last 16 of this season’s Champions League. With eleven straight wins before this game (they’ve won all games since their 2-1 defeat in the Madrid derby in early September). With 46 goals in these last 11 games, they are sure to come in to this game expecting three points.
Liverpool won their opening game in their Champions League campaign 2-1 at home to Ludogorets, but with successive losses against Basel (1-0) and Real (3-0) they are up against it now to make the knock outs. Brendan Rogers has admitted as such, and knows his side will be up against it. Their 1-0 defeat against Newcastle wasn’t ideal preparation, but as it was the earlySaturday kick off, they’ve had good time to recover.
Ronaldo has been in fine scoring form, and the hosts might welcome back Gareth Bale, although whether Ancelotti will ‘risk’ him in this game remains to be seen. The line is understandably heavily in favour of Real, and at the time of writing, Real -2.00 is best priced at 2.05 with SBO bet, with Liverpool +2.00 at 1.91 with Pinnacle. Goals look likely on paper, but if Liverpool can frustrate their hosts, under 4.00 at 1.74 (Pinnacle) or even Under 3.75 (1.97 – Pinnacle) could be worth a look.
