Dundalk Racecourse
Dundalk Racecourse is a floodlit left handed track. It is the only all weather course in Ireland and is raced on a Polytrack surface. The circuit is just over a mile and a quarter in circumference.
There are currently six pattern races per calendar year. A group three race over an extended ten furlong and five listed events ranging from five furlongs to just over a mile and a quarter.
When it comes to the draw, there does appear to be a betting market bias to those drawn very high over middle distance races. This is because being drawn high on a left handed track would usually mean having to race wide and possibly losing ground when racing round the bends.
However, despite the low win strike rate where those were either drawn thirteen or fourteen in races over twelve furlongs, have still shown to be profitable over time, as the record below illustrates.
Please note: Profit and Loss figures (P/L) is based on level stakes betting of one Euro per bet to SP.

Further below are some trainer angles that may be of use in your quest for finding some profitable bets over the long term at this track.
Course: Dundalk
Trainer: D English
Race Type: 4yo+ Handicap races
Bets: 52 Wins: 12 Strike Rate: 21.43% P/L+85.25
Additional notes; All the yards winners at the track have never won more than three races at this course, this would have saved you from eleven losing bets, providing a further eleven points profit to the above total.
Course: Dundalk
Trainer: G Lyons
Race Type: 2yo Non-Handicap races.
Bets: 271 Wins: 51 Strike Rate: 18.82% P/L+68.32
Additional notes; Trainer does really well with his juveniles that contest any distance race from five to seven furlongs, all above a 20% win strike rate in each trip category.
However, his win percentage drops to 11.32% when his two year olds contest any races beyond seven furlongs, with only six wins from 53 runners and recording a loss of 23.55 to equal stakes of one Euro or Sterling per bet. So you would have avoided 47 losing bets from the above stats when taking this factor into account.
