( votes)Whilst many punters prefer the riches of the Over 2.5 Goals market, they are missing out on the riches that the Under 2.5 can bring.
There is a greater risk here for sure, but with some basic research we can find out those teams that can really be the difference-makers to our weekly betting.
Here we’ve highlighted some of the best to look out for across Europe:
Germany
Hamburg
Clean Sheet = 50%, Failed to Score = 50%
Hamburg’s recent shyness in front of goal (they’ve scored just two goals in six matches) marks them down as a team to watch for our Under 2.5 Goal bet slips. But defensively they are fantastic, with four goal clean sheets in their last half dozen games, and so they can be relied upon to ‘go low’ on a weekly basis.
Italy
Frosinone
Clean Sheet = 20%, Failed to Score = 50%
The allure of Frosinone is that they are pretty reliable to bet on. When they play at home they generally win by a small margin (they’ve won their last three on home soil), whilst they struggle in away matches (no win in three). That said, they have conceded a mere 12 goals this season – the same as Serie A table toppers Roma.
Spain
Malaga
Clean Sheet = 44%, Failed to Score = 78%
Despite their lowly league position in La Liga, Malaga boast one of the best defensive records in the division – even better than Barcelona’s. Combine this with an inability to score goals (five in nine) and we have a gift sent from the Under 2.5 Gods.
Belgium
Kortrijk
Clean Sheet = 50%, Failed to Score = 33%
Kortrijk have the tightest defence in the Belgian league having conceded just nine goals in twelve game – as their 50% clean sheet rate attests. But they are a bit shy in front of goal themselves, and have only gone Over 2.5 once in their last fixtures.
Czech Republic
Slavia Prague
Clean Sheet = 36%, Failed to Score = 27%
Not only do Slavia Prague boast the enviable record of keeping a clean sheet once every three games, they also generally only score in two out of every three games too – perfect for our Under 2.5 Goal mission. It’s perhaps no surprise then that they have failed to go Over 2.5 Goals in any of their last six outings.
France
Lille
Clean Sheet = 45%, Failed to Score = 55%
Lille have scored six goals and conceded seven in eleven games – little else needs to be said about their Under 2.5 Goal prowess! They average 2.00 goals in their last six games, and looks a sure bet for our slips given the right opposition.
